The Fruita Section of James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park offers volunteer Campground Host opportunities March through November. Host(s) will receive a campsite (water, sewer & electric) in return for a minimum of 20 hours/week/person. We are seeking hosts with a wide variety of skills and experiences! Hosts are involved in cleaning campsites, selling firewood, and assisting visitors with park questions. Should be in good physical condition and enjoy working with the public. Special projects may be assigned based on the skills and interests of the volunteer and the needs of the park. Those interested should contact the Senior Ranger for additional information.
If you are new to the Colorado volunteer program, please create a profile and select the opportunities you are interested in. Applications are accepted year-round, however, positions are typically filled by December for the following summer. Uniform shirts and hat provided.

Maintenance volunteers serve directly with the Park Resource Technician on daily projects and tasks. This position will be responsible for all general campground maintenance and cleaning of public facilities and picnic areas including cleaning, showers, toilets, and picking up trash. Landscaping to include mowing, weed trimming, watering and weed control. Provide and ensure quality customer service, facility maintenance, repair, cleanliness. Provide information and assistance to visitors. May also assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, transporting materials, supplies and perform other duties as assigned. This position has the opportunity to be a resident volunteer with a full-hookup site with 50 amp electricity provided. Primary residency will be at the Fruita section however, volunteers may assist with work at any location- Fruita, Connected Lakes, Corn Lake/SWA or Island Acres.
