Share your love and passion for reel and/or fly fishing with others. Assist with school groups, large events for all ages, and fishing derbys. We have an annual need for assembling, fixing, and rigging fishing poles and other equipment maintenance. Must have good people skills with the ability to represent the agency in a professional manner.

The Friends of Mueller State Park (FoMSP) is a non-profit 501c3 public charity that raises money to fund youth programs, park improvements and interpretive exhibits to enhance the experience of every visitor who enters the park. Common tasks include clean-up and maintenance of the park grounds and facilities; completing special and/or seasonal maintenance tasks as needed; carpentry, remodeling and construction projects; assisting with minor equipment repairs.

Present park interpretive programs, such as: campfire talks, nature walks, multi-media shows, living history programs, evening programs and others. Lead school group programs on-site. Visit local students (or other groups) in their classrooms and conduct interpretive programs off-site. Conduct public workshops or classes. Conduct roving interpretive patrols in campgrounds, on park trails, at park facilities or in the backcountry. Help at large special events.

Special Projects' is open-ended and provides an opportunity for some creativity and suggestions for projects and/or assignments that are outside the realm of naturalist work, maintenance details or trails crew: Assist with clerical duties in the Visitors Center; work on website, Facebook and other media; cleaning, organizing, rearranging within any of the park's facilities; newsletter compilation and editing. Assisting with park events and other projects.

Help preserve the park's trails system and backcountry by performing maintenance on current trails such as: creating water bars; clearing trees; posting, removing, redoing signs; raking and brushing trails; replacing, repairing and maintaining water culverts. Also, occasional fence removal from the park's undeveloped areas.

Greet and interact with visitors looking for information or needing assistance; answer phones; perform clerical tasks; sell passes, permits and hunting/fishing licenses; work at the visitor center information desk, front entrance gate, and sales outlet; assist staff with special events; write and edit brochures, fact sheets and manuals; organize and stock materials and retail items; some light cleaning.
