Campground Host Get Involved Photo

Campground Host

Situated in an aspen/pine forest, Steamboat Lake is one of Colorado's most popular attractions. It features 188 campsites, camper cabins, fishing, swimming, boating, a full-service marina, and hiking trails. We are located 30 miles north of Steamboat Springs.

Campground Hosts act as ambassadors for the park staff, assisting with campground reservations and maintenance and providing information to visitors. The volunteer schedule is flexible enough to allow you ample opportunity to enjoy this beautiful area.

Amenities:

We are looking for two camp hosts who are ready to join a wonderful group of individuals all working together to maintain, conserve, protect and enjoy both of our beautiful parks.  Come be part of our team in 2024!

We are looking for a couple to become our Larkspur hosts. The Larkspur hosts take care of the Harebell, Rosecrown, Larkspur, Lupine and Yarrow loops within the Sunrise Vista Campground at Steamboat Lake. All loops together add to a total of 61 campsites with both electric and non-electric (basic) sites. The camp hosts assigned to this area, will live in the Larkspur Loop in a site that includes full hook-ups.

We are also looking for a couple or an individual to become our Bridge Island host(s).  Bridge Island is part of the Dutch Hill Campground at Steamboat Lake.  Bridge Island offers some of the most beautiful views of the lake! It includes 36 campsites all noon-electric(basic) sites.  Part of the Island is for tents only.  Camp host here have a choice of sites to live in.

Their choices are:

The Bridge Island site:  This site has water, uses a macerator pump to dump( we will teach you how to use it.  It's a pretty easy machine to use), but it has NO ELECTRICITY.  Camp host would have to utilize solar panels.  The site has amazing views and easy water access for those willing to live a little more remote.

The Wheeler Loop Site:  This site has water, uses a macerator pump to dump (we will teach you how to use it.  It's a pretty easy machine) and has 30 and 50amp electrical hookups.
