Serve as a camp host and contribute your time to the rewarding operation that is Crawford State Park. Enjoy the mountainous terrain and the geological wonders of the North Fork Valley, featuring Needle Rock, Castle Rock, Sleeping Indian, and Saddle Mountain - all picturesque landmarks visible from the campsites at Crawford State Park. Nearby attractions include the towns of Crawford, Paonia, Hotchkiss and Delta, the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, the Gunnison Gorge, and more.
Responsibilities:
Elevation: 6800 feet
Looking for 3 hosts for the 2024 season! Pairs, individuals, families with children, and people who are still working/in their careers (e.g. working remotely) are welcome to apply (couples preferred). Hosts are permitted to have pets.
24 hours per person (couples) per week. 30 hours per person (single) per week. May - September.
Minimum time commitment: 2 months (preferably between May and September)
Desired time commitment: 3 months (may choose to stay through the full summer if desired)
This scenic park offers camping, fishing, water sports and other leisure activities within the parks natural environment. Crawford State Park boundaries include 337 land acres and a 400-acre reservoir, with two separate campgrounds.
Amenities:
In exchange for volunteer service, the park provides three campground host sites with electrical, water, and sewer hookups to a holding tank that holds 500 gallons. They are pumped as needed. Our hosts can also enjoy internet and laundry facilities.
