Get Involved: Trinidad Lake State Park

This 2,500-acre park is nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Southern Colorado. We offer spectacular scenery, year round camping, and a variety of recreational opportunities including hiking, fishing, and boating to name a few.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Sell Firewood
• Clean Fire Rings
• Clean Bathhouse
• Interact with the public
• Other tasks as assigned 

Camp host must provide their own camping trailer/RV.

6,310 ft.

Looking for 6 hosts for the 2025 season!

Pairs, individuals or families with children are accepted, and hosts are permitted to have pets.

Mission statement: "The Friends of Fishers Peak and Trinidad Lake State Parks aspire to instill an appreciation for the wonders of nature, provide quality outdoor recreation, and raise awareness of the Park's diverse opportunities for visitors and the local community alike." Volunteer responsibilities vary, depending upon the undertakings of the Friends Group.

Share your special skill! Projects may include write and develop outdoor interpretive signs for self-guiding trails or roadside exhibits. Recruit other volunteers. Photograph or video tape park programs, special events, visitors, or resources. Assist in planning volunteer recognition or social events. Provide equipment or expertise on special projects. Design and create puppets, historical costumes, and more.
