This 2,500-acre park is nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Southern Colorado. We offer spectacular scenery, year round camping, and a variety of recreational opportunities including hiking, fishing, and boating to name a few.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
Camp host must provide their own camping trailer/RV.
Site elevation: 6,310 ft.
Looking for 3 Host for the 2024 season! Pairs, individuals or families with children are accepted, and hosts are permitted to have pets.
20 hours per week per person.
Time commitment is 5 -6 months, May - October (hosts needed Memorial Day to Labor Day).
Enjoy spectacular scenery, full service site, and lots of recreational opportunities. We are a very diverse park with many different recreational opportunities. We are within an hour drive of high mountains and low plains. We have several lakes within 30 miles of Trinidad Lake. There are multiple opportunities to hike on park, and also several trails in Trinidad and west of Trinidad.
We have lots of activities all through the summer including summer interpretive programs every week, the Trinidadio Blues Festival, ArtoCade, and the Santa Fe Trail Festival.
Amenities:
Free campsite in exchange for volunteer service. Our volunteer campground host site can accommodate RVs and has water, sewer and electric hookup (30 or 50 amp) with a 120 volt plug. Cell service is available. Can send mail and packages to the Visitor Center.
