Description:

The Island Acres Section of James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park is seeking hosts with a wide variety of skills and experiences! Should be in good physical condition and enjoy working with the public. Contact the Park Ranger listed for additional information. Applications are accepted until the position is filled.  

Responsibilities:

Campground hosts are responsible for:

• Cleaning campsites between reservations including, sweeping, raking, cleaning fire pits.
• Help with other projects may be requested dependent on experience.
• Help in the visitor center may be requested, dependent of experience.
• Assist visitors with questions, sell firewood.
• Special projects may be assigned based on the skills and interests of the volunteer and the needs of the park.

Site elevation:

4,700 ft.

2 vacancies for summer 2025!

Pairs, families, and individuals accepted, and hosts are permitted to have pets.

Time Commitment:

24 hours per person per week. Time commitment is a minimum of two months, May through September.

Volunteer Benefits:

Flexible schedule with options to assist with maintenance and/or the visitor center, in addition to camp host role. Hosts receive a free, 50 amp campsite while serving at a state park that is close to a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities, not to mention the proximity to local wineries and vineyards!

Amenities:

Full hookup campsite with 50 amp electricity is offered in return for volunteer service. Cell service is available.

In addition to these amenities, James M. Robb State Park can provide propane to subsidize hosts needs. Please reach out to the admin contact for more information about this benefit.
