Description:

Navajo State Park is looking for volunteer camp hosts. Located midway between Durango and Pagosa Springs on the New Mexico border, Navajo Reservoir is 15,600 surface acres of aquatic fun!

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Clean Campsites
  • Sell Firewood
  • Answer visitor questions
  • Shuttle drive visitors to and from boat ramp with UTV
  • Wetland/trail management projects
  • Other tasks as assigned

Site elevation: 6,100 ft.

Looking for hosts for the 2024 season! Couples are preferred, but individuals are also accepted. Hosts are permitted to have dogs as long as they are kept leashed and/or contained/under control.

Time Commitment:

20 hours per week per person, April - September.

Minimum time commitment: 3 months *As long as it covers Memorial and Labor Day

Desired time commitment: 4 months

Volunteer Benefits:

Centrally located between desert and mountains and other attractions (Durango Train, Mesa Verde, Taos, Chaco Canyon. This is a very beautiful and well-liked part of the state!

In exchange for volunteer service, hosts receive a free, full hookup campsite in a beautiful location!
