Description:

Lory State Park is located in the beautiful foothills just west of Fort Collins, CO. This park does not have campgrounds, but offers spring and summer volunteer host positions to assist staff with various duties.

The host stays in their own RV at the park's maintenance shop with a full hook up and access to a washer and dryer and a full private bathroom with a shower.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Hosts are asked to work closely with the full time and seasonal staff to accomplish the goals of the park. These tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • General maintenance, including Visitor Center and restroom cleaning
  • Visitor Center operations (including selling permits and merchandise, distributing information to visitors and answering phones)
  • Light maintenance (removing trash, mowing, weed eating, painting)
  • Special projects and more.

Site Elevation: 5,500

Looking for 1-2 hosts for the 2023 season. Couples/pairs are welcome to apply. Hosts are permitted to have pets.

Time Commitment:

20 hours per person per week, May - September.

Minimum time commitment: 4 months

Desired time commitment: 5 months

Volunteer Benefits:

Free, full hookup campsite in exchange for volunteer service (water, sewage, 50 amp electric)! Good cell service and WiFi. Computer and internet access available at the office.

Beautiful location close to Fort Collins and other open spaces like Horsetooth Reservoir.
