Campground Host

This spectacular mountain park consists of 71,000 acres and the largest moose herd in Colorado!

Campground hosts help make the park run, they are the backbone to State Forest State Park, and are typically the first person and last person a visitor will see on their way out of the park.

Volunteer responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting campers
  • Light maintenance
  • Cabin and camp site maintenance
  • Entrance station/visitor center staffing
  • Assisting the interpretive staff with promoting and possibly presenting interpretive programs and hikes.

Campground hosts are needed in three separate campgrounds to assist with park operations.

Time Commitment:

20 hours per week per person, with the majority of those hours occurring on weekends and holidays.

Volunteer Benefits:

Host at a beautiful park well known for being the moose capital of Colorado! Free campsite in exchange for volunteer service.

Electrical hookups are available at the Ranger Lakes Campground. There are also two trailer sites at the park's maintenance compound with full hookups.
